The 2026 Study Environment Award: Josephine Fuglsang Nielsen

This year’s Study Environment Award goes to Josephine Fuglsang Nielsen. Since 2023, Josephine has been the chair and managing coordinator of Klimahaven Kolding, which is currently the voluntary association at SDU Kolding with the largest active membership across the faculties. She has created an inclusive community that brings together students across programmes for a range of free events.

In the summer of 2025, Josephine was also the driving force behind setting up a party committee at SDU Kolding. Since its creation, she has worked with the committee members to organise several large-scale social events that have been very well attended.

All the initiatives that Josephine has launched support well-being and a strong sense of social belonging, which helps students feel more connected to university life and gives them a greater incentive to continue their studies even during difficult times.
