Research agenda

Our research unit focuses on interdisciplinary and clinic-based research across several specialties and themes:

  • Cross-sectoral collaboration between hospital and municipalities and general practitioners
  • Emergency medicine
  • Nephrology
  • Infectious Diseases, including antibiotic stewardship
  • Endocrinology
  • Geriatrics

The research unit engages in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, ranging from clinical randomized trials to interview-based studies. A central tenet of our research is a patient-centered approach, ensuring that all research questions are derived from patient’s needs, experiences and perspectives.

In alignment with the institution’s strategic priorities, the unit seek to further enhance interdisciplinary collaboration across clinical and academic settings. The research unit is currently in a developmental phase with strategic objectives for 2030, including the appointment of a professor in one of the internal medicine specialties, the establishment of sustainable PhD programs, and the continued consolidation of our research capacity, currently comprising five senior lecturers and two postdoctoral researchers.
