Festival of Research 2026 in Esbjerg, Thursday April 23: See the full program here
On Thursday, April 23, Esbjerg welcomes Festival of Research 2026. The afternoon’s theme is “Women in Research or Research on Women.” The program is packed with exciting presentations throughout the day – including CLF’s own Annette Aagaard Thuesen, who will speak about a rural sociology perspective on gender and inclusion in rural governance.
Historically, research, legislation, economics, and societal understanding have been based on men as the norm. This scientific event focuses on how new research is helping to change that perspective.
The event consists of four scientific presentations that highlight the afternoon’s theme.
Among others, you can experience Head of Department Pernille Tanggaard Andersen from SDU Esbjerg, who will focus on gender inequality in the healthcare system. You will also meet associate professor and Ph.D Annette Aagaard Thuesen, who will talk about inequality and inclusion in rural governance, and Senior Consultant Christina Stolzenburg Oxlund from Esbjerg Hospital, who initiated “Hjertemor,” a project working with early detection and prevention among women with preeclampsia. The event moderator is Signe Dohn Vilandt, a journalist at Esbjerg Sygehus.
The event has been moved to Rundetårnet at UC SYD, Degnevej 15, 6705 Esbjerg Ø.
