SDU Center for Energy Informatics Shares Asset Management Research with Danish Grid Operators

Middelfart, Denmark – September 30th, 2026: The SDU Center for Energy Informatics (SDU CEI) was invited to present its research on data-driven asset management at Green Power Denmark’s Elteknikermøde, held at Comwell Middelfart. The center was represented by Professor Hamid Reza Shaker, Mohammad Reza Shadi and Tobias V. R. Jensen.
Professor Hamid Reza Shaker and Mohammad Reza Shadi presented recent advances in a talk titled “Data-Driven Asset Management for Distribution Cables.” The presentation explored how data and artificial intelligence can support Danish distribution system operators in planning underground cable maintenance and renewal. Addressing ageing infrastructure, constrained investment budgets and incomplete asset records, the research provides a basis for more systematic prioritisation of cables for inspection and replacement.
The event offered an opportunity to share research findings with electricity network professionals and relate them to the sector’s practical challenges. SDU CEI’s participation reflects its continued collaboration with industry to improve asset management and support reliable electricity networks.
