EI.A Conference 2026 Brings the Energy Informatics Community Together in Beijing

Beijing, China – October 14–17, 2026: Researchers, students, and industry professionals from 12 countries came together at the Sino-Danish College (SDC) in Beijing for the Energy Informatics.Academy Conference 2026 (EI.A 2026). Organized by SDU Center for Energy Informatics, the team behind Energy Informatics.Academy, a global community for energy informatics, together with SDC and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), the conference gathered 71 registered attendees for four days of presentations, discussions, and new connections.

The single-track format meant that everyone was in the same room for every talk, and it worked well as a forum for exchange. Sixty presentations, 45 live and 15 pre-recorded, covered topics from district heating and smart buildings to trustworthy AI, forecasting under uncertainty, industrial systems, and grid resilience. Five keynote speakers opened the days with perspectives ranging from AI-driven virtual power plants and energy communities to vehicle-to-grid in China and solid-state batteries, and every session ended with a theme discussion that gave presenters and audience time to dig deeper. Many of the best conversations happened outside the sessions, over coffee, lunch, and at the gala dinner on Friday evening.

On Saturday, October 17, participants also took part in a site visit to the production lines of Huawei and Xiaomi. It was a good chance to see how the batteries, mobility, and digital systems discussed at the conference are used in industry, and to continue the conversations in a more informal setting.

We would like to thank everyone at SDC and UCAS who helped to run the conference so smoothly, as well as all speakers, session chairs, reviewers, and participants who made it such a great few days.
