About The Inge Lehmann Programme

The Inge Lehmann programme is designed to strengthen talent development in Danish research while addressing gender imbalances in academia, with 80.6 million DKK allocated in 2024. The program is named after Danish seismologist Inge Lehmann, who revolutionized our understanding of Earth’s structure by discovering its solid inner core in 1936. Lehmann overcame significant challenges as a woman in science, and her legacy continues to motivate future generations.
