Ulla Ijäes

I have studied gendered consumption, status manifestation and identity in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century Finland, and especially among the merchant elite. My doctoral thesis with and English abstract can be found from http://www.doria.fi/handle/10024/104609
Recently, I have studied German migrants consumption in nineteenth century Finland in a project 'Migration and Multiethnic Cities' (University of Tampere) and development of commercial law from the view point of a merchant house in a project 'The Making of Commercial Law. Common Practices and National Legal Rules from the Early Modern to the Modern Period' (University of Helsinki).
