SDU gets two new master's degree programmes
The University of Southern Denmark has received the green light from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science to offer two new master's degree programmes. Both will be offered at SDU's campus in Sønderborg.
New degree programmes are on their way to SDU. Minister for Higher Education and Science Christina Egelund has now approved a Master of Science in Engineering in Supply Chain Digitalisation at the Faculty of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Global Supply Chain Management at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.
Centre for research and education
Both programmes will contribute to the ambition of making SDU Sønderborg a powerhouse for research, education, innovation and entrepreneurship that meets both local and national needs for skills and labour.
The Master of Science in Engineering in Supply Chain Digitalisation is part of an initiative in the engineering field to create a more digitalised and greener Denmark. The graduates will support the digital transformation of the business community and strengthen companies' sustainability efforts with competences in data science and machine learning.
Local and regional companies demand qualified labour with strong business economics skills. The Master's programme in Business Administration with a focus on Global Supply Chain Management helps to meet this need. The programme builds on the bachelor's programmes in Business Administration (HA) and European Studies, and the bachelor's students now have the opportunity to stay in Sønderborg and complete their university education in the city.
Supports a strong, academic study environment
– It is a great pleasure that we have received approval and can now establish the two master's degree programmes. They complement and supplement each other in a number of areas and will support a strong academic study environment at SDU in Sønderborg, says Pro-rector Helle Waagepetersen. She continues:
– As two attractive educational opportunities in the region, they will support the government's goal of a Denmark in balance, retain young and talented students for the benefit of the local area and strengthen companies’ access to highly educated labour.
The Master of Engineering in Supply Chain Digitalisation starts in September 2025.
The Master of Business Administration programme in Global Supply Chain Management starts in September 2026.
