Nice to know about Denmark

Climate and clothing

Due to its situation in the northern part of Europe, Denmark enjoys a climate with moderately cold winters and warmer summers. In November, you can expect almost any kind of weather, as it tends to be unpredictable: wind, rain, sun, and sometimes snow. Temperatures will usually vary between 5° and 10° C.

In order to be well prepared, we recommend that you bring good shoes, a warm sweater, a good overcoat and an umbrella. We also recommend packing for this kind of cold weather if you enjoy light hiking, as there are some beautiful sites around Odense and Funen.

Currency

The currency in Denmark is kroner, DKK. Please notice that the exchange rate may fluctuate. However, you can pay with credit cards almost everywhere in Denmark.

The best way to follow the rate is visiting the site published daily by the Central Bank of Denmark

Time zone

Denmark is on Central European time (CET) which is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) plus 1 hour (GMT+1).

Water

Denmark has some of the world’s best drinking water. Therefore, all tap water in Denmark is clean and all Danes drink water from the tap. It is not necessary to buy water, this would just be a waste of money.
