Domen Bajde has been appointed as the new Head of the PhD School at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at SDU as of September 1, 2021.

Domen Bajde is Professor WSR at the Department of Marketing & Management, where he has been heading the research group Consumption, Culture and Commerce since 2017.

- I am happy to take on this responsibility and look forward to contributing to the development of an area of research and education that plays such a significant role in shaping the future of the university and knowledge development, he says about his new task.

The best conditions for PhD students

Domen Bajde takes over the position as Head of PhD School after Kristin B. Munksgaard, who in the meantime has become Head of the SDU Business School.

The newly appointed Head of the PhD School says that he will continue as well as further develop the good initiatives that have already been launched to ensure the best possible working conditions for PhD students, which is especially important in light of increased uncertainty and various restrictions in the corona period.

He also adds:

- I am excited to search for new opportunities to develop the activities at the PhD School, by capitalizing on the school’s strengths and as well as by looking for new ways to foster academic growth, conviviality and shared engagement with the many social, environmental, and economic challenges we face.

Solid background as researcher and leader

Sten Rynning, Vice-Dean for Research, is pleased to welcome Domen Bajde as Head of the PhD School at the Faculty.

- Domen has a solid background both as a researcher and as head of research unit, and I am sure that Domen is the right person to develop the PhD area and continue the positive development we have worked on in recent years, in close cooperation with the PhD students, their supervisors and the administration of the PhD School, Sten Rynning says.

The PhD School at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences has approximately 75 PhD students enrolled.
