Exemption from an application deadline

Once the applicable deadlines for applications have expired, it is generally not possible to submit an application or its supporting documents, but you may be exempted from the application deadline in exceptional circumstances.

When can you be exempted from an application deadline?

You may be exempted from an application deadline in exceptional circumstances. This means that there have been circumstances beyond your control that have prevented you from meeting the application deadline, such as a serious illness, an accident, or a death or serious illness in your immediate family.

You will need to document this, e.g. by submitting a medical certificate.

Circumstances that do not give cause to an exemption from an application deadline are delay, negligence or being unaware of the specific deadlines.

How to apply for an exemption from an application deadline

You must submit your application for exemption as soon as possible after the deadline from which you wish to be exempted.

Applications should be sent by e-mail to optag@sdu.dk together with relevant documentation. In addition, you must include a detailed description of why it has not been possible to meet the deadline for which you are seeking exemption.
