Professional area of interest: Psychotrauma pathology with a special focus on gender differences, including whether the same factors affect whether men and women develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related disorders/symptoms. Currently, Dorte focuses a lot on gender differences in the acute (peritraumatic) psychological, physiological and endocrinological trauma reactions and their mutual associations and significance for later PTSD.
In addition to these areas, she has worked extensively with parents who have lost an infant, rape victims, post-traumatic growth (PTG) and gender differences in clinical psychology in general.
