The Centre for Contemporary Middle East Studies at the Faculty of Humanities offers an international master degree in Middle East Studies

The purpose of the graduate programme in Middle East Studies is to provide thorough knowledge of contemporary historical and political conditions of the Middle East.

You will acquire a historical overview of the Middle East as well as detailed insight into central issues related to the shaping of the modern Middle East.

The region is studied in a global perspective – we are interested in the Middle East in the world – as well as through a broad range of disciplinary lenses; political science, history, sociology, economy, anthropology and religious and cultural studies.

The study programme offers perspectives on the Middle East and Mediterranean relations, cultural encounters, natural resources, politics and economics. Furthermore, the programme involves an internship in the Middle East.  

The semester starts 1 September. 
This programme is offered in English.
