Trine Banzon is awarded the prize for best thesis
From May 25th to 28th, the 13th edition of the Nordic Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (NFBO Congress) was held in Copenhagen. This year it was a particular pleasure as the center’s PhD student, Trine Banzon, was awarded the prize for an especially groundbreaking thesis.

Banzon’s thesis, titled “Assessment of Mental Health, PTSD-, and Complex PTSD Symptoms in Greenlandic Children and Adolescents,” is part of the Center’s work on validating Greenlandic assessment tools for children and youth. The study found that over 80% of Greenlandic adolescents have experienced a potentially traumatic event, with 57% having experienced indirect trauma exposure. The jury describes the thesis as an “invaluable contribution” to the research field, providing knowledge and tools that can be used in practical work with traumatized children and young people.
