Professor inaugural seminar
20 August 2026, POLIMA celebrated the appointment to Professor of Joel D Cox and Christos Tserkezis
The Professor Nomination of Joel D Cox and Christos Tserkezis was celebrated together with collaborators and friends from Max-Born-Institut Berlin, AMOLF, Amsterdam, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Aarhus University, Technical University of Denmark & Copenhagen University
The inaugural seminar included two guest speakers who gave the following presentations:
• Jesper Mørk (NanoPhoton, DTU) presented "Physics and applications of semiconductor nanocavities"
• Antonio Isaac Fernandez Dominguez (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) presented “Qubit entanglement and quantum light generation in emitter ensembles”
The two new professors also presented:
• Christos Tserkezis presents “High-index dielectrics for nanoscale light-matter interactions”
• Joel Cox presents "Concerted nonlocal and nonlinear nanophotonics in atomically thin materials"
