Visit by guest researcher Professor Nancy Longnecker
Professor of Science Communication Nancy Longnecker from the University of Otaga, New Zealand visited SDU April 17.-20., with FNUG as her host
During her visit, Nancy Longnecker had tutoring sessions with several of FNUG's PhD students, and she spent time with FNUG's Professor Connie Svabo. They are both associated with the research team behind the Moriori, Music and Manawa project.
In addition, she gave a presentation at FNUG's research seminar on 20 April at 13-15
Nancy Longnecker has curated dozens of exhibitions, and her research-based knowledge of museums as cultural institutions that support life-long learning forms an important basis for developing the immersive exhibition about Moriori, Music and Manawa with a focus on user experience. She has experience co-creating communication resources with Māori and Pacific participants (Longnecker & Scott, 2016; Sole et al, 2022; Longnecker & Bryant, 2023).
