Professor Connie Svabo, head of FNUG, Professor Michael Shanks from Stanford University, Associate Professor Chunfang Zhou from FNUG, and Professor Tamara Carleton from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden are in the final stages of editing the book Creative Pragmatics, which will be published by Springer in the spring of 2025 as part of the ESERA book series Contributions from Science Education Research. This book provides educators, leaders and policymakers with a visionary approach and hands on examples of how education can help students navigate complexity and unpredictability – the challenges of contemporary society.
Books
Gitte Miller Balslev, Associate Professor at FNUG, together with B. Ribers (SDU), C. Revsbech (RU) and P. H. Raae (SDU) are editing a book in the Routledge series on research in teacher education.
It was published in the spring of 2024 by University Press of Southern Denmark and is one of the first comprehensive attempts to share experiences and perspectives on the use of STEM didactics in a Danish context. The book offers, among other things, research-based and practice-oriented examples, many of which originate from the LabSTEM project. The authors are Connie Svabo, Dorte Moeskær Larsen, Maiken Westen Holm Svendsen, Katrine Bergkvist Borch, and Mette Als Kristensen.
Bæredygtige skoleliv, published in 2024, focuses on sustainability in schools. All chapters in the book are oriented towards primary and upper secondary education, with a strong and broad theoretical foundation, and are based on research or development projects that involve perspectives from students, teachers, and school leaders, giving the anthology a close connection to practice. The book's central argument is that current crises demand new approaches. It particularly emphasizes the importance of a broad understanding of sustainability, encompassing ecological, social, economic, and cultural aspects, in order to understand and contribute to the development of sustainable school lives in all their diversity. The head of FNUG, Professor Connie Svabo, has edited the book in collaboration with Nikolaj Elf and Thomas Skovgaard.
The book provides an understanding of the characteristics and dynamics of organizational routines, which can help organizations make informed decisions about why routines should be maintained and continued, or why they should be dissolved, changed, expanded, or replaced with new ones. Published by Dansk Psykologisk Forlag. Karina Kiær, postdoc at FNUG and associate professor at UC SYD, co-authored the book with Thomas R.S. Albrechtsen, associate professor at UC SYD.
At the twelfth CERME Congress, Dorte Moeskær Larsen presented a conference article that she has written with Connie Svabo, Lars Seidelin and Mette Lindharth Kristensen. After this review process, it has now been published. To read the conference article, click the link.
