Belt in Balance
Belt in Balance creates new nature experiences by the sea and coast and improves the living conditions for the fish and other animals in the Little Belt, Denmark. FNUG contributes to the project with research that examines the impact of communication on young people
Belt in Balance is a project that creates new experiences by the sea and coast and introduces a new concept for marine communication. The three municipalities in the Nature Park Little Belt (Kolding, Fredericia, and Middelfart) are leading the way for the whole of Denmark and are collaborating on their shared sea under three main headings: improvements, research, and communication
The project will:
- Create tangible improvements in the marine environment of the Little Belt, including better living conditions for cod, sea trout, and harbor porpoises.
- Provide more knowledge about the Little Belt through research on the effects of these improvements.
- Communicate knowledge and research to citizens, visitors, and associations. The facilities and communication along the coast of the nature park will be enhanced, so that particularly schools and young people have better opportunities to experience, learn about, and understand what happens beneath the surface of the sea.
- Offer new and enriching nature experiences by Denmark's sea and coast.
FNUG contributes with research on the benefits of communication for young people.
Belt in Balance is supported by the VELUX Foundation and the Nordea Foundation.
