The purpose of FNUG Labs is to research, develop and evaluate innovative teaching methods, technological tools and learning environments that improve student engagement and understanding. Laboratories works as experimental spaces where researchers can explore and further develop the impact of practice-oriented, inquiry-based learning grounded in problem-solving, critical thinking, and knowledge retention within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
In FNUG Labs, we work with STEM educators, researchers, students and professionals in interdisciplinary projects. We emphasize engaged, emergent, ethical and aesthetic forms of participation. When relevant, we seek to integrate 21st Century Skills, soft skills, STEAM and approaches such as playful learning, inquiry-based learning, project- and problem-based learning, aesthetic learning and and research in educational design.
