Creative Pragmatics: Performing STS in Education

Abstract
This presentation introduces how researchers at the STEM Education Research Center-FNUG conceptualize and apply Creative Pragmatics, a framework grounded in Science and Technology Studies (STS). Three cases are presented:

• The redesign of an anatomy wet-specimen learning environment
• The NAFA Summer School
• The MicroPlayer Club.

These cases deepen our understanding of knowledge as performance and demonstrate how Creative Pragmatics strengthens active learning, encourages student experiences, and develop educational practices that integrate STS with art and design.

USE Center Opportunities and visions

Jenny Marie Dauer, Professor and Leader of Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Univeristy of Science Education, University of Copenhagen.

Abstract
The Novo Nordisk Foundation University Science Education (USE) Center is reaching 'phase 1.2' - turning a corner from getting to know each other and funding our first research proposals, towards deepening conceptual development and strengthening collaborations and efforts. In this presentation I will draw on several sources to reflect on the opportunities of the USE Center and how we can continue to develop a share vision of action towards strengthening DBER in Denmark and reinforcing science students’ learning outcomes.

Science of Success: Integrating Proven Digital Innovations into STEM

Abstract
In the era of rapid AI advancement, the main challenge for STEM education is scientifically verifying the effectiveness of new tools. This presentation outlines a project rooted in Evidence-Based Education (EBE), designed to bridge the gap between academic research and classroom practice. Three key pillars of the initative will be shared with audience:

• Mapping 12 innovations
• Rigorous verification, and
• Knowledge transfer.

By providing evidence-based recommendations, the project empowers teachers to implement proven digital innovations, securing student success in STEM fields.

Connecting Curriculum Design and AI-Mediated Learning: A Syllabus-Based Perspective

Abstract
As generative AI becomes increasingly embedded in higher education, student learning practices are evolving in ways that were often not anticipated by course designers. Integrating syllabus analysis with data on students’ AI use offers an opportunity to connect learning behaviors with intended learning outcomes and assessment strategies. This perspective can enrich the interpretation of learning practices and contribute to the design of future AI-mediated learning environments.
