From KAIST to POLIMA
New POLIMA postdoc - Jacob Terndrup Heiden
POLIMA is happy to announce that Jacob Terndrup Heiden has started as a new postdoctoral researcher. Jacob is a BSc alumnus from SDU and is now returning from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he earned his MSc and PhD degrees under the supervision of Professor Min Seok Jang.
As a PhD student, Jacob primarily investigated phonon-polaritons in two-dimensional polar crystals and how these can be modulated through substrate control. Highlights include an experimental study demonstrating how phonon-polaritons may provide a pathway to bypass nonclassical phenomena, as well as a review paper on polaritons screened by mirrors - so-called image polaritons.
Jacob now joins the newly established quantum-optics subgroup at POLIMA, led by Professor Nicolas Ubrig, where his expertise will contribute to advancing the group’s studies of quantum mechanical properties in two-dimensional semiconductors.
