QM Quantum Computing Initiative

The initiative takes its origin in QM core researcher activities involving various aspects of the mathematical foundation of quantum theory and its application in quantum engineering, quantum computing and other applications of quantum phenomena, and to increase the interdisciplinary collaboration within SDU and across various world-leading research units.

The first phase of the initiative primarily tap two major research projects at QM – the ERC-Synergy Grant for “Recursive and Exact New Quantum Theory (ReNewQuantum)” and the Simons Foundation Collaboration Grant for ”New Structures in Low-dimensional topology” – in order to transfer the centre’s core work on the mathematical foundation of quantum theory into various developments in quantum computing.

In the first phase, we focus on the various quantum computing platforms that embody great potential for scalability and high impact applications, e.g., continuous variable cluster state quantum technologies, quantum internet, topological quantum computing, gate-based quantum computers and quantum annealing.
