(If you are enrolled before January 1st 2026, only the two first courses are mandatory, but we highly recommend that you take the third as well)
Introduction to the PhD program at Health Sciences at SDU
This course will address the rules and regulations regarding PhD education at the Graduate School of Health Sciences at SDU and it will give you an idea of what you can expect during your study. The course is in two parts: an online part on ITS learning and a physical day at SDU Odense.
- You will be enrolled in this at the time enrolment as a PhD student
- It is only relevant for PhD students at Health Sciences at SDU, and can not be substituted for course at an other university
- If you are not able to participate on the date we select for you, please contact us so that we can find an other date
Responsible Conduct of Research
The course introduces PhD students from the health sciences to basic concepts, principles, and norms concerning responsible conduct of research. By stimulating awareness, reflection, and discussion of academic integrity and good scientific conduct, the course supports PhD students in establishing responsible research practice, including conducting research in accordance with scholarly and societal rules, principles, and guidelines, as well as current practices at SDU.
The course addresses scholarly, ethical, and legal aspects of the research process, including research planning; data management; key elements of scholarly publishing, authoring and authorship.
