Alessio Bricca is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, Center for Muscle and Joint Health.
His main interests are in studying how exercise and physical activity can improve the health of people with chronic conditions, through evidence-based treatments co-developed and implemented with patients, clinicians, and stakeholders. His methodological expertise centers on evidence synthesis and randomised controlled trials. His scientific contributions include challenging the belief that exercise harms the knees of people with knee problems, and demonstrating that exercise is both safe and effective for individuals with multiple chronic conditions. Alessio has a keen interest in knowledge dissemination, which he uses to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.
