Ida Juliane Bundgaard joined POLIMA as a Ph.D. student in December 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Christos Tserkezis. She has an educational background as an engineer, with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from University of Southern Denmark in Physics and Technology. As a student, Ida was also engaged in POLIMA and wrote her bachelor’s thesis about the role of non-local effects in the strong coupling in plexcitonic nanoparticle systems and her master’s thesis about structural colours stemming from Mie resonances in TMD nanoparticles.

As a Ph.D. student, her research will focus on the manipulation of light-matter interactions in both the weak and strong coupling regime using primarily dielectric nano-architectures, this may span from the enhancement of fluorescence in emitters to the development of useful frameworks for Mie-excitons.
