Diego Rabelo da Costa is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Physics at the Federal University of Ceará in Fortaleza - Brazil and a PQ scholarship (Level 2) from CNPq carrying out research in the Condensed Matter Theory Group. He got a double doctorate diploma in Physics (2014) in a joint Ph.D. program between the Federal University of Ceará and the University of Antwerp, under the supervision of Profs. François M. Peeters, Gil de Aquino Farias, and Andrey Chaves. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Ceará between 2014 and 2018 and a Research Scholar (joint-postdoctoral position) at the University of Minnesota (USA) and Hunan University (China) under the supervision of Profs. Tony Low and Chujun Zhao between 2018 and 2019. His main research interests and ongoing projects are related to the following topics: two-dimensional materials; van der Waals materials; flat-band materials; semiconductor heterostructures; materials modeling; electronic, transport, magnetic, and optical properties of nanostructured systems; plasmonics; twistronics.
