The project explores challenges and affordances of using robots in hospitals, focusing on physical behavior and concerns related to the perception of, and relations to human stakeholders, like doctors, nurses, patients and relatives. By gaining an improved understanding of how robots behave and are perceived in hospital environments, and developing guidelines for robot use, the project contributes to meeting the workforce crisis in contemporary healthcare.
The project involves close collaboration between philosophy, robotics research, researchers from the health sciences, and health professionals. It focuses on mobile and service hospital robots. The pilot project has been funded by the Danish Translational Hub.
