Uriel Levy is a professor of applied physics at the Department of Applied Physics at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI), where he is also the director of the Harvey M. Krueger Family Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. He holds a PhD degree from Tel Aviv University, while he was also a postdoc at University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

His major research interest is nanophotonics, with focus on silicon photonics, plasmonics, and light matter interactions for applications in communication, imaging, lithography, sensing, memory, and alternative energy. He is an elected fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and serves as an associate editor for Science Advances (AAAS). His research has been supported by prestigious funding, including the ERC program. He is also the CTO of TriEye – an Israeli spin-out from his research group that develops imaging and sensing technology for the automotive industry.
