Joanna Kurowska

Being engaged in cross-border cooperation as an academic and practitioner for more than 20 years has provided me with broad experience in working on the ground with borderland actors, Euroregions and EGTCs (European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation) across Europe. It is my job and passion to build bridges between public, commercial and social players, develop multi-sectoral cross-border relations, and contribute to the creation of new solutions which can be implemented and exploited further in borderlands. I am strongly motivated to contribute to B-SHAPES with the knowledge and experience of exploitation of results from different studies. In B-SHAPES, the exploitation of the study’s outputs will include working with borderland stakeholders on planning a process of implementing research results into practice. Particularly in commercial sectors, which haven’t been active in cross-border cooperation in a sufficient level so far.

Another non-academic partner of B-SHAPES is Kreatus Ltd. This consultancy (SME) specializes in advising municipalities and regional authorities in elaborating heritage management plans. In B-SHAPES, Kreatus will create an end-user product for stakeholders in the heritage industry and contribute to the deliverable ‘inclusive borderland heritage management plan’ (WP6, WP7) to ensure its practicability and implementability.
