Capitalism in the Danish Experience
Capitalism in the Danish Experience explores capitalism as a wicked problem: a concept that resists simple definitions and calls for close attention to change, contradiction, and historical contingency.
With a focus on Denmark’s experience since the 18th century, this project examines how the country’s ongoing negotiation between wealth and equality has been shaped by forces such as agriculture, science, empire, migration, entrepreneurship, capital, and the welfare state. Rather than seeking a singular “Danish model,” the aim is to reconsider what capitalism means when viewed from Denmark - and what Denmark, in turn, reveals about capitalism more broadly.
Capitalism in the Danish Experience will host a series of seminars and discussions, which are held in both Danish and English.
