Danish Institute for Advanced Study (D-IAS)

Danish Institute for Advanced Study (D-IAS ) is a national center for excellent research that aims to inspire groundbreaking ideas through the meeting of minds within all disciplines.

D-IAS is organized and placed at SDU Campus  in Odense.

The original idea of a Danish Institute for Advanced Study dates back to the beginning of 2009 - at that time the first of its kind among the Nordic countries. The new D-IAS building will open Spring 2020.

D-IAS brings outstanding researchers together in an interdisciplinary centre for fundamental research and intellectual inquiry.
The center exists to encourage and support curiosity-driven research in the sciences and humanities, and thereby unlock new revolutionary ideas.

Direction: D-IAS  is temporary led by Vice-Chancellor at SDU, Henrik Dam.

Coordinator: Trine Baltzer Demkjær, tnd@sam.sdu.dk
