Ph.D. Jesper Bonnet Møller is an Assistant Professor at IMM at the Department of Cancer and Inflammation Research at SDU.

 

Jesper Bonnet Møller holds a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from SDU in 2011 and was Postdoc at Department of Cardiovascular and Renal Research at the same place until 2015. From here his career took him to Jill Roberts Institute for Research in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Weill Cornell Medicine – Cornell University, New York.

 

During his Postdoc at Institute of Molecular Medicine, Jesper Bonnet Møller received a 3.9 million DKK scholarship from Novo Nordisk for a research project focusing on inflammatory bowel disease. The purpose was to characterize a novel protein, FIBCD1, and its significance in human diseases such as Crohn´s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. This was done at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York where Jesper Bonnet Møller was appointed Visiting Assistant Professor from 2015-2019.

 

His recent works include significant contributions to the field of mucosal immunology, including pioneering work studying novel mechanisms in fungal immunity and neuro-immune cross-talks during intestinal inflammation, that has been published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
