Mental health challenges among children are increasing in Denmark. Many parents feel uncertain about how to best support their child when early signs of distress appear. ParentHelper is developed as a free, public digital tool to help parents identify and respond to early signs of mental distress in their child. The project builds on experiences from Mindhelper.dk and will be integrated into the national Trivselsplatformen (Wellbeing Platform).
Purpose
The aim of ParentHelper is to develop and evaluate a digital platform that provides research-based knowledge, advice, and guidance to parents of children in grades 0–5. The platform supports early detection and offers parents concrete options for action. The project investigates how parents can best be supported digitally and how content can be presented in a user-friendly and engaging way.
Method
The project consists of five work packages: needs assessment, user-centered design, content development, implementation, and evaluation. Methods include qualitative interviews, workshops, design thinking, and user testing. Evaluation includes both feasibility and impact assessment.
Project period
The project runs from 2025 to the end of 2026.
