Jorge Barcia Rodriguez is a Research Assistant at Centre for Polariton-driven Light-Matter Interactions (POLIMA) under the supervision of Prof. Nicolas Ubrig. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Oviedo, where he developed 3D surface reconstruction software for SEM backscattered electron imaging, and his master's in Molecular Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Valencia, working under Prof. Efren Navarro-Moratalla on 2D ferromagnetic materials and multiferroic heterostructures.
His current research focuses is on experimental nano-optics in two-dimensional semiconductors, exploring light–matter coupling, interlayer excitons, and correlated phenomena in van der Waals heterostructures.
