Christian Nicolaisen Hansen is a research assistant at the Centre for Polariton-driven Light-Matter Interactions (POLIMA).  He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in the Physics and Technology program from the University of Southern Denmark.

His research focuses on the theoretical investigation of image polaritons formed in atomically thin crystals such as graphene interfacing highly conducting materials like metals. The research involves diverse geometrical and material configurations in order to address how to generate and engineer image polaritons, along with how nonlocal and quantum mechanical effects influence their behavior.
