DIAS Visiting Fellow Programme
Are you an early-career researcher at SDU with an interest in interdisciplinarity? The DIAS Visiting Fellow Programme presents a unique opportunity to enhance your academic career, collaborate with fellow researchers across disciplines, and contribute to a vibrant research community that fosters excellence and creativity.
Updated 26 June 2024.
The application deadline is extended to 9th August 2024.
The DIAS Visiting Fellow Programme places early-career scholars from all SDU faculties within DIAS’s international network of researchers and equips them with the resources and training to bolster their interdisciplinary scholarship. The programme provides a short-term DIAS fellowship, a collective funding stipend, and access to various activities in a vibrant community of researchers from multiple disciplines.
Two visiting fellows will be selected from each faculty to produce an expected cohort of 10 visiting fellows each year.
Benefits include.
- A collective funding stipend of 30,000 DKK for organizing a retreat, workshop, lecture series, or consultancy session. This funding will be used by the visiting fellow cohort during (and not extending beyond) their term.
- Participation in weekly Society of Fellows meetings and DIAS events, including retreats, lectures, workshops, and development courses.
- A 2-semester fellowship term from September to June.
Eligibility and Terms
- The DIAS visiting fellowship is limited to postdocs and assistant professors at SDU (i.e., PhD-holders on a non-tenured/non-permanent contract).
- As a rule of thumb, a visiting fellow will be appointed for a 2-semester term extending from September until June following application. Shorter terms of minimum 1 semester will be considered in view of rationale presented in the motivation letter.
- The DIAS visiting fellowship term must not exceed your term at SDU. If your contract does not extend until June, then its projected end date must bidentified in your motivation later (along with any expected contract extensions).
