Environmental Health

The environment affects our health

All humans are continuously exposed to chemicals from our surrounding environment, and some of these chemicals affect our health. At NIPH, we study how environmental chemicals affect public health, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups, including children and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

We work with epidemiological methods and use data based on biological measurements and surveys, collaborating with research institutions across the world.

The aim of our research is to build a knowledge base for risk assessments, policies, and interventions that protect the public against adverse health effects caused by environmental chemicals.
