The KV25 project: Dit valg. Vores Danmark

Local democracy is a cornerstone of any democratic system, as many of the decisions that most directly affect people’s everyday lives are made by local politicians and authorities. This makes the relationship between citizens, local politicians, and local media particularly important—especially during local elections.
Based on a large-scale survey conducted across all 98 Danish municipalities, the KV25 Project will investigate citizens’ perceptions of local media, local politicians, and the local political climate before and after the municipal elections in November 2025.
In the months leading up to the election, the project partner, the Constructive Institute, will implement a range of constructive journalism initiatives and organize engaging election events aimed at fostering dialogue between politicians, journalists, and citizens. The goal is to strengthen political efficacy and civic engagement.
The combination of pre- and post-election surveys enables a detailed analysis of the effects of these initiatives on citizens’ perceptions and engagement in local democracy.
