Emil Bakkensen Johansen is a Postdoc at the DDC, and holds a PhD in Business Economics from the Strategic Organization Design (SOD) group at SDU, and a MSc in Sociology from the University of Copenhagen. Situated in computational social science, his work focuses on the societal and organizational impacts of AI and digital platforms within information ecosystems and news media. In his PhD project, Emil researched complex dynamics within the Danish news ecosystem pertaining to collaboration dynamics and the influence of content recombination and generative AI on news diversity.
Drawing on big datasets and methods like natural language processing, network analysis, simulation modelling, and behavioral experiments, Emil’s current research at the DDC explores AI’s role for creative decision-making, AI-driven imitation processes, and connectivity in political parties.
