• Describe your job in 5 words

Lecturer and applied healthcare researcher

• What do you love most about what you do?

The thing that I love the most about my job is mentoring the future generations of scientists and engineers. Seeing their ideas and independence develop is the most satisfying aspect of academic life, in my opinion.

• How did you become involved in TeleGraft?

I became involved in the first stages of TeleGraft a few years ago, when my colleague Prof Ivan Wall introduced me to our Danish partners to begin the development of this incredible proposal. I have always been interested in applying engineering principles to improve healthcare settings and patients' quality of life, and I was delighted to be able to provide my expertise in perfusion systems and artificial blood vessels.

• What is the best thing about being part of TeleGraft?

My favourite thing about our consortium, leaving the exciting science and engineering aside, is working with a diverse group of professionals, from various countries and backgrounds. We have known each other for a while now, and have only met once in person. However, I believe we learn from each other in every single of our interactions.

• Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you

In my free time, when I am not running after my daughter, I love knitting and making hand-made presents for my friends and family.
