With the proposed research project, we are aiming at gaining a better understanding of N2O emissions from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), especially trickling filters (TFs). This knowledge will allow for the maximum reduction of N2O and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by enabling a highly improved process control.
