QM marks a historic milestone with the launch of its Master's programme in Quantum Computing
This Monday represents a landmark moment in Danish higher education, as the Centre for Quantum Mathematics inaugurates its Master's programme in Quantum Computing by welcoming its first cohort.
The programme, offered by the Centre for Quantum Mathematics (Department of Mathematics and Computer Science), combines advanced theoretical foundations with hands-on quantum programming. It is designed for students with backgrounds in physics, computer science, mathematics, or artificial intelligence. Taught entirely in English, the programme places strong emphasis on quantum algorithms, quantum information, and error correction.
Professor Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen, Head of the Centre for Quantum Mathematics, states:
"This is a landmark day for Danish quantum technology. With this programme, we take an important step toward educating the next generation of experts in quantum computing and quantum mathematics. We are in the midst of a technological revolution, and at SDU we are proud to leverage our world-class research in quantum algorithms and quantum software to train young experts — benefitting both future research and industrial applications."
William Elbæk Mistegård, Assistant Professor and lecturer in the programme, adds:
"This is a unique opportunity for students. They gain access to cutting-edge research and hands-on experience with quantum programming. We’re excited to see how they will help unlock the full potential of quantum computing."
