We are excited to announce the publication of our white paper, ’Towards a Consensus Atlas of Human and Mouse Adipose Tissue at Single-Cell Resolution’ in Nature Metabolism. This work brings together leading researchers from The Human Cell Atlas (HCA)'s Adipose Bionetwork, a network established to support the creation of unified single-cell atlases of human adipose tissues as well as guidelines for approaches to generate adipose singel cell data.
In this review, we provide an initial summary of this work, including consensus annotations of adipose depots and cell types in both mice and humans. Additionally, we describe the current state of the field and provide experimental and computational guidelines for the production and analysis of adipose tissue data at single-cell resolution.
