Annual University Celebration

The Annual Celebration is held on the last Friday in October.

The Annual University Celebration consists of an opening ceremony in the university’s auditorium 45 at Campusvej and an evening event taking place across the entire university.

Awards ceremony

The celebration begins with an opening ceremony consisting of speeches by the Chairman of the Board, the Rector and a student representative, followed by a celebration lecture. This is followed by the awarding of doctorates and honorary doctorates and by the presentation of the prize for research dissemination, the Teaching Award, the Innovation Award, the TAP Award and the Honorary Alumnus Award. The ceremony is interspersed with musical entertainment.

Party on campus

After the opening ceremony, the celebration spreads out across the entire university on Campusvej, where guests, staff and students will sit down to enjoy the celebration dinner. Yet more students will arrive during the course of the evening, as various bands and DJs take the stage. In all, more than 4,000 people are set to attend SDU's largest celebration.

Attendance to the annual celebration is restricted to invited guests, staff and students at the University of Southern Denmark.
