Research Unit of Pathology (Odense) 

Pathology is the study
of disease. It bridges between basic sciences, such as human biology and
molecular biology, and medicine. Pathology is critical in patient care and contributes
with diagnosis, prognostic information for planning of treatment, and
predictive analyzes for choice of drugs. Pathology plays an important role in
research and in advancing medicine to fight diseases such as cancer, chronic
inflammation, and degenerative diseases. Recently, the Department of Pathology
turned digital and the primary diagnostic work is now performed on scans of the
stained tissue sections.
