SDU unveils a new era in quantum research by opening SDU Quantum Hub

The SDU Quantum Hub, at University of Southern Denmark, celebrated its launch in the end of September by hosting eminent professionals from various institutions, eager to unveil their innovative quantum research activities.

With an ambitious objective of moving quantum research forward and nurturing the application of new quantum technologies, the hub seeks to address scientific, societal, and economic challenges.

A special thanks to our renowned guest speakers including Professor Klaus Mølmer (NBI), Professor Ulrik Lund Andersen (DTU), Associate Professor Michael Kastoryano (ITU), Professor Birgit Schiøtt (AU), Professor Torben Larsen (AAU), and Professor Matthias Christandl (KU), who honored the event, sharing invaluable insights into their current research endeavors.

Aimed at unifying researchers, students, industrial partners, and public sectors, SDU Quantum Hub envisions a future where quantum research is not only advanced but also applied pragmatically to navigate various challenges. The hub wants to increase the visibility of quantum activities internally at SDU and amongst diverse external stakeholders with a vested interest in quantum research and its various applications.

We are creating SDU Q-Hub to bring together all the different activities in the quantum area in order to facilitate further collaborations across academic disciplines. There's a number of very strong activities in quantum computing software, such as: quantum mathematics, its utilization in a wide range of quantum algorithms with many applications in quantum computing, development of quantum algorithms in quantum chemistry, a number of strong theoretical activities in high-energy physics as well as strong experimental environment focusing on quantum effects in relation to interactions of light and materials
