Lucía Cores-Sarría is a post-doctoral researcher at the Digital Democracy Center. She has a joint Ph.D. in Media and Cognitive Science from Indiana University Bloomington, which she pursued with the support of a Fulbright scholarship, and MA in Cognitive Semiotics from Aarhus University. Lucía uses psychophysiological methods to examine the impact of visual aspects such as editing and camera perspective on the emotional and cognitive responses of viewers. She is currently working on the “New Demands on the News” project at the DDC, where she carries out experiments to test strategies for constructing streaming-friendly news messages, with the ultimate goal of optimizing television news for on-demand environments.
