What is the DDC Methods series?

One of the core strengths of DDC is its interdisciplinarity and the methodological richness that comes with it. Methods are not only one of the best bridges between different disciplines but also one of the skills that can be best implemented in different professional fields. Thus we started a new internal project to foster a strong environment for methodological discussions and enable better insights into current state-of-the-art methods across disciplines.

What are we planning?

Starting in January 2024, the DDC organizes roughly three times per semester either (a) a guest talk with advanced experts who engage in state-of-the-art methodological work that is relevant to the DDC or (b) a hands-on session in which the early career sholars at DDC share the expertise they gained in their own work with each other. The sessions usually consist of 45 minutes input (e.g., 25 min talk plus Q+A), and  another 45 minutes for applied thinking. The input part of the session will be streamed via zoom and although the sessions are primarily targeted towards DDC, interested SDU members from other Departments are also welcomed - reach out to the organisers if you would like to join.
