New CDC & DDC Study on the State of Danish Digital Democracy Released!
The basic conditions for a well-functioning digital democracy in Denmark are in place – but the full potential is not being realized. This is the conclusion of a new report just published by the Danish Ministry for Digitalisation.
The report shows that while digital infrastructure and access to technology are generally satisfactory, broad and equitable participation in the digital democratic conversation is still lacking.
The report is the result of a collaboration between the Centre for Digital Citizenship (Sine Nørholm Just, Eva Mayerhöffer, and Jakob Kristensen) and the Digital Democracy Centre (Sofie Filstrup Kim Andersen, Mia Stenbro Lorenzen, and the undersigned).
At the Digital Democracy Centre, we look forward to continuing our work to identify pathways toward a stronger and more inclusive digital democracy – and we hope the report will spark a broader debate on how to promote democratic participation in a digital age.
