On September 12 to 13, researchers from the Nordic Humanities Center will gather for a symposium with Nordic colleagues. The title of the symposium is "Individual and state in the Nordic model - historical experiences and future social legitimacy", and it takes place at Linnaeus University in Växsjö, Sweden.

New call open for Nordic Humanities Center

Applications are now open for the next research project at the Nordic Humanities Center. Permanent academic staff at the faculties of the humanities at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Southern Denmark are eligible to apply. The project period runs from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2026. We are looking for 6 Senior Fellows and 2 Junior Fellows.

New Nordic humanist centre to create new understandings of the world’s societal challenges

Thanks to a donation from The A.P. Moller Support Foundation, the University of Copenhagen and the University of Southern Denmark will establish a new research centre: the Nordic Humanities Centre for Challenge-Based Inquiry. Based on humanistic disciplines, the Centre will contribute nuances, perspectives, new understandings and opportunities for action in relation to the major societal challenges such as the climate crisis and pandemics.
